iPhone 7 priced INR 43 k in USA and 60K in India
Generally it is suggested that India has high tax structure, and it is reason that iPhone 7 will be highly priced, however it was confirmed that import duty on iPhone 7 is only 11.43% and it should not be priced more than 53 K in any given circumstances.
11.43% Import duty on iPhone 7
It is crystal clear that Apple India was overcharging Indian consumer than their counter part in rest of the world. However Apple India was not ready to afford two consecutive launch failure.
They come with smart tactics, They announced iPhone 7 at 60 K (Lesser than iPhone 6s at 62K) and provided Flat Rs.10,000 cash back on Citi bank credit card on 7th October for first day billing only. It worked like anything, and long queue has been seen everywhere to get iPhone and en cash this offer.
However as already mentioned, Apple India was creating artificial shortage, and were not providing all per-booking handsets to retailers, this offer was meant to be extended, and on 8th October Rs. 7000 discount was continued on Citi bank credit cards.
iPhone 7 has been launched in highest variants this year. iPhone 7 and 7 Plus launched in 32 GB in 4 colors naming Black, Rose gold, Gold and Silver. while iPhone 7 and 7 Plus in 128 GB and 256 GB are launched in 5 colors naming Jet Black, Black, Rose Gold, Gold and Silver.
Jet Black is high in demand and due to marketing gimmicks of Apple it is being sold more than MRP. Retailers are charging Premium to provide this handset and if they cant sell it legally ( One can not sell more MRP) force accessories bundling is being done.
iPhone 6, iPhone 6S and iPhone 7 are look alike, only differentiation is colors i.e. Black and Jet Black. Apple lovers do not buy iPhone for utility, it is show piece and will be confirmed if it is in Black or jet Black. So demand for Black n Jet Black will continue.
