IIM A young Alumni Achiever’s award 2017 in entrepreneurship has been confirmed on Sucharita Mukherjee and Yashish dahiya.
IIM A announced third edition of Young Alumni Achiever’s Award to be given on June 22nd, 2017 during induction of the incoming batch at IIM Ahmedabad.
The award is to be given in the three categories viz.
- Corporate Leader
- Entrepreneurship
- Social Service/ Public Service/ Academics/ Literature/ Performing arts/ Politics/ Sports
In Entrepreneurship award is given to
- Sucharita Mukherjee – Chief Executive Officer at IFMR Holdings
- Yashish Dahiya – Co-Founder & CEO, PolicyBazaar
Sucharita Mukherjee
Ms. Sucharita Mukherjee is currently the CEO of IFMR Holdings, a Founder Trustee and Vice Chair of IFMR Trust, and has been a part of the IFMR Trust Executive Group since 2008. She is a director on the board of all IFMR Trust group companies and was the founding CEO of IFMR Capital, from its inception till 2012. She was recently a member of the India Advisory Committee to the UNEP Inquiry into a Sustainable Financial System. IFMR has been recognized by the Outlook Business – The Power of “I” for innovation, and the BSFI CSR Award for outstanding contribution to society. Ms. Mukherjee was named in the Economic Times 40 Under Forty list as one of the 40 most impactful young business leaders.
Previously, Ms. Mukherjee led the origination and structuring effort in credit derivatives and structured finance for corporates at Morgan Stanley in London where her work included developing innovative asset-backed financing structures in areas such as intellectual property and health-care receivables. She was also part of the credit derivatives team at Deutsche Bank in London, structuring credit-derivatives-linked repackaged investments for financial institutions.
She graduated from the PGP program at IIM Ahmedabad in 2001, and has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University.
Yashish Dahiya
Mr. Yashish Dahiya started Policybazaar.com –in 2008. Policybazaar.com (PB) is India’s insurance research destination, started with a purpose to educate people on insurance products. It has had asignificant influence on how insurance is bought in India, leading the penetration of pure life insurance, health insurance and such products which were barely bought earlier. Today PB accounts for 20% of India’s life cover, and 7% of India’s retail health business. It accounts for roughly half of all internet based insurance purchase in the country, and is more than doubling annually. It is among the very few profitable companies in the e-commerce sector,employs 2600 people, and is valued at close to $400M. The company has been built in a tough regulatory environment, which is demonstrated by its market share of over 90% amongst similar businesses.
Prior to this,Mr. Dahiya served as Managing Director of ebookers Plc, a FTSE 250 company, and been a strategy consultant with Bain & Co in their London office. He started his career with 4 years at ITW Signode in India.Mr. Dahiya has represented India at the Swimming Masters World Championships in Kazan in 2015, as the gold medalist in his age from the country in 200 and 400 meters freestyle. He currently has the 5th fastest timing in the Ironman event by any Indian living in India or abroad across all age groups, and the fastest in his age category. He is also the fastest Olympic distance triathlete in India for all age categories above 25.
Mr. Dahiya graduated from the PGP program at IIM Ahmedabad in 1996, and has a bachelor’s degree from IIT Delhi.
