Apple is using oldest formula to keep iPhone 7 in news and being demanded by consumers. Demand and supply is being manipulated even after two weeks of launch. Supply is not rationalize to meet demands.
Apple has intentionally planned irregular supply of iPhone 7 and 7 plus. And existing red-tap-ism in country supported it manifold.

Apple never imported all variants and colors of iPhone7 and 7 Plus. Which gave a false impression of shortage on account of sale, however there was none. Initially it was applied to Jet Black color, which was supplied ZERO on launch day. It did had a hue n cry with who is who, as all of them wanted to flaunt iPhone 7 and 7 plus, and Jet Black was auto recognition for owning this utility. It is evident that Apple iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are exactly same in look and aesthetics as iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and 6s plus as long as it is in silver, gold and rose gold. It played really well, and every one was exercising its reach-ability to top-shot in Apple.

Even after two week, Apple has not normalized supply of iPhone7 and 7 Plus. Particularly iPhone 7 plus is still not made available. Apple do recognize that its game plan is working well, so only 1% of Silver and Rose gold is imported to have minimum backlog of unsold inventory with these color variants.

iPhone 7 has been launched in highest variants this year. iPhone7 and 7 Plus launched in 32 GB in 4 colors naming Black, Rose gold, Gold and Silver. while iPhone7 and 7 Plus in 128 GB and 256 GB are launched in 5 colors naming Jet Black, Black, Rose Gold, Gold and Silver.
