June has been an incremental growth month for Handset industry in India. Indian Handset market size in value touched INR 54 Billion and in volume it was 10 millions handset. Revenue of mobile handset industry in calendar year 2016 is ranging INR 50 Billion.
Indian Handset industry is ruled by Samsung, Micromax, Intex, Vivo, Gionee, Oppo, Karbonn, Celkon, Intex, Nokia and Lava. Indian Brand Micromax, Intex and Lava are giving a tight fight to establish player like Samsung. These Indian brands have already destabilize giant like Nokia. It wont be wrong to call them giant killer now. However trinity of chinese brands Vivo, Gionee and Oppo are racing ahead slowly but steadily.
No. 1 Position is hold as usual by Samsung.
No. 2 Position is hold by Micromax, However Samsung position is Intact as Micromax is not clicking even 50% volume/value.
No. 3 Position is hold by Lava. There is 30% gap in no. 2 and no. 3 , however no.3 i.e Lava is just 30% of nos. sold by Samsung.
