Congress and central government has convinced that regular petrol price hikes are necessity and were forced decision comes out of compulsion of economic development. we believed government. you believed government. we in absence of any other option started paying extra. we have also seen government making some very wise comments/ decisions on corruption, Anna, RSS, Raja, Kalmadi etc.
Rahul, your active participation at few households in UP ( read it at Dalit house) is most loved and admired by media. It proves you to be only young leader who understands problem of them. Palace is not a place for you but Dalit house is. So one thing is clear you may/must have a team/advisers but at the same time you prefer to listen it from horses mouth. In congress we all know no decision is taken without prior consent of mummy Sonia and Rahul baba. So as a practice we conclude you must be convinced/ allowed to hike oil prices for economic compulsion.
I will not compare Petrol price in Pakistan, Nepal, US, UK and India. This time we shall compare oil prices in India at different time.
I got it, OK I will compare it in congress regime only with following factors
1. Crude oil prices increased in world
2. Rupees has been weaken in comparison of dollar
Rahul, crude oil highest price was in July 2008 at $ 137.11 per barrel , in same year dollar VS rupee was rs. 50 and petrol price reached height of rs 50.
Today dollar is less than Rs. 50, crude oil prices are $ 105 per barrel and petrol prices are Rs. 70 !!! 40 percent high with everything down. Rahul Let me assure you none of the company in the world works on 40% margin. however your government has convinced you to have mark up of 40%. your advisory team is great so is congress government.
Now you will say why, why same government will do this. see I observe two factors.
one, at that time finance minister was P chidambaram
second, Elections were due in 2009
Lets discuss first: As reports are coming from Pranav da Finance ministry only, P chidmabaram had active role in appropriation of 2G bulk money, so he didn’t want to earn it from oil.
Second: Now we do not have leaders that want to rule India for better India. We have congress who just want to rule, rule and rule. and is ready to do whatever it has in this process.
