India’s Import comparative study of financial year 2015-16 and 2016-17 confirms that In 2016-17 India’s import has witnessed 3.5% growth over FY 2015-16. In 2015-16 India’s import bill was 2,490,298.08 crore rupees which increased to Rs. 2,577,421.65 in 2016-17.
Increased in import bill is due to mineral fuels, mineral oils and products of their distillation; bituminous substances; mineral waxes which accounted 25.3% of total import bill registered a 9% steep growth and in FY 2016-17 ended with 26.8% of total bill.
