I recall, to lead a parade of this standard I and my contingent practiced many months prior on Rajpath every morning in the biting cold

I recall I was d shortest heading tall men behind me in Delhi police contingent. And as I saluted PM,Mrs Gandhi stood up cheering! I saw her

We marched all 14 Km from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort with sword in hand. Thousands cheered us all through. The most momentous day of my life!

PM Indira Gandhi was so happy seeing me lead Delhi police parade in 1975 that she invited me for breakfast following morning! Fond memories!

Happy Republic Day. I led the Delhi Police contingent in 1975. First time a woman led a male parade. PM,Indira Gandhi was overjoyed!

When I led 26th Jan Parade in 1975 I was posted as Assistant Superintendent Police Chanakya Puri Subdiv. It was my first posting as in IPS capacity.

I recall when I led the Jan 26 parade my then IGP was not sure I as a woman could lead. I had to assert for it! And he was happy that I did
